Cheers To First Annual Bar Hop In Flip Flops

BY: LISA VAUGHAN

On Friday, June 21, many folks came out for the first annual "Bar Hop In Flip Flops" charity event coordinated by Zasha Levee.

Zasha organized the event from A-Z. She is the coordinator for the Cabo Wine Club and did an incredible job making the event very special and enjoyable, along with helping this great local charity!

The event contributed to Hope for Los Cabos, a charity organization bringing hope to the hopeless of Los Cabos. The charity is run by David and Jennifer Limpert who live full-time in Cabo San Lucas.

This non-profit organization focuses on helping the less fortunate children of Los Cabo by providing whatever is needed; clothes, shelter, food, financial medical assistance and much more.

In addition to the Cabo Wine Club, sponsors included Sancho's, Uno Mas?, Tanga Tanga Sports Bar, Cabo Blue, Wicked Pizza, and Flip Flops Cantina. All sponsors were extremely generous at their locations and greeted us with tremendous hospitality.

Restaurant and bar sponsors offered drink specials, food specials, and a free giveaway that was raffled off for the attendees at every venue.

Approximately 50 attendees were at Sancho's to kick-off this heartwarming event, later many more joined us on our journey. The kick-off at Sancho's took place at 1:30 p.m. and the cover charge to attend the event was a new pair of children's flip flops. Many attendees contributed more than one pair and the flip flops were in such vibrant colors for the girls and boys of Los Cabo.

The owners of Sancho's, Margo Marek and Coco Chappell situated a T-shirt pick-up station. If you ordered the "Flip Flop Bar Hop, Cabo 2019" T-shirt, it was available for you to wear during our adventure.  A portion of the T-shirt revenue was donated to Hope for Los Cabos.

The next stop was Uno Mas? for the photo opportunity and of course, more drink specials. Then off to Tanga Tanga Sports Bar where the management and staff went entirely over the top by offering complimentary crab cakes prepared by their chef and a glass of prosecco, unlike champagne which is from France, prosecco is from Italy. The prosecco complemented the crab cakes very nicely and the combination of both was a huge hit for everyone!

The fourth stop was Cabo Blue, more giveaways, then we were off to Wicked Pizza for pizza and drink specials.

Last but certainly not least, Deb Parsons, owner of Flip Flop Catina wowed us! We arrived at 6 p.m., and Deb had hired one of the best bands in Cabo San Lucas to play for us, Mauri and Claudio Acuna, known as "The Acuna Brothers." We enjoyed the delight of their music then catering arrived from Il Forno Pizzeria Trattoria, delicious and complimentary from Flip Flops Catina. We continued the fun and celebrated Flip Flop Cantina's 5 year anniversary. Congratulations Flip Flop Catina and Deb!

Many thanks go out to everyone who came to support our local community children and assisting Hope for Los Cabos. And of course, thanks to all the wonderful sponsors who put so much effort into making the first Bar Hop In Flip Flops such a success.

We look forward to hearing from Zasha Levee in the future now that she has created a very giving annual Cabo tradition.
