April 18. Thursday. 8:00 p.m. Vagabond Movie Club presents. Birds of Passage. (2018) Drama. Centered on the Wayúu indigenous people during a crucial period in recent Colombian history. During the marihuana bonanza, a violent decade that saw the origins of drug trafficking in Colombia, Rapayet and his indigenous family get involved in a war to control the business that ends up destroying their lives and their culture. April 25. Thursday. 8:00 p.m. Vagabond Movie Club presents. Blindspotting. (2018) Comedy, Crime, Drama. Timely and wildly entertaining story about friendship and the intersection of race and class set against the backdrop of Oakland. While on probation, a man begins to re-evaluate his relationship with his volatile best friend, infused with the spirit of rap, hip hop, and spoken word. Blindspotting, directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada in his feature film debut, is a provocative hometown love letter that glistens with humanity. Original language with English subtitles. Free.
