The La Paz City Council has approved the declassification of land in the districts of Todos Santos and El Pescadero as well as the Calafia neighborhood. The approved land will be used for the construction of affordable housing which is part of the government’s Housing for Well Being Program.
In a further demonstration of the coordinated efforts in working with the federal government, and in support of Southern California families, Mayor Milena Quiroga and Secretary General Abimael Ibarra were authorized to sign donation contracts for the properties in favor of the National Institute of Sustainable Land (INSUS) through the National Housing Commission (CONAVI).
The Housing for Well Being Program is an initiative promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, with the goal of guaranteeing the right to decent housing for all the country’s citizens. The municipal government, therefore, is seeking to provide this benefit to the residents of La Paz with their full support of this measure.
