Missing Person Alert at a Cabo Beach

Search Underway

A person has been reported missing on a beach in Cabo San Lucas, prompting an ongoing search effort. The incident was reported early in the morning on Monday, June 16, specifically around 6:00 a.m., near the Hilton Hotel located in the municipality of Los Cabos. In response to the situation, local security and emergency services have mobilized maritime teams to conduct searches along the coastline.

According to statements from the State Government’s Secretary General, Alberto Rentería, the disappearance is believed to be linked to the current swell phenomenon, which has resulted in unusually high waves and tides in the region.

Rentería highlighted that these natural conditions, particularly heightened during the night and early morning, can pose significant dangers to beachgoers. “The swell phenomenon that’s occurring here is generating very interesting levels of waves, seawater movement, and tidal fluctuations, especially at night or in the early morning hours,” he remarked.

Given the circumstances, Rentería has issued a strong advisory to visitors as well as residents of the area, urging them to remain vigilant and take appropriate precautions while at the beach.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to safety recommendations from local authorities and being aware of potential hazards. “It is very important that citizens and those who visit us, both national and foreign, take precautions,” he concluded, urging everyone to prioritize safety as emergency teams continue their search efforts.
