Construction Detours in Effect in La Paz
Maintenance and rehabilitation work is prevalent on the BCS roads to preserve an acceptable level of service. When construction work occurs, planning detours around work zones is often necessary to carry out the repairs properly and safely while accommodating the needs of the traveling public.
Forjadores Boulevard in La Paz is one of the main arteries of this capital, serving as a major thoroughfare with heavy daily traffic. Today, the State Government announced that it will undergo renovations, which will result in temporary traffic changes.
Since the beginning of the current State Government’s administration, the rehabilitation of this important boulevard has been on the agenda due to its poor quality. Starting this Friday, June 13, work will begin on the section between Colima and Colosio streets (right side, north-south, in front of the shopping plaza).
On the stretch between Colima and Colosio streets, two-way traffic will be allowed on the opposite side of the road, which will be closed due to pavement reconstruction, according to SEPUIMM (Mechanical Service of Public Works).
Municipal traffic officers will implement lane divisions with adjustments during peak traffic hours: in the morning, there will be two lanes running south to north, and in the evening, two lanes running north to south.
Additionally, stop signs will be posted at the intersections of J. Múgica Extension and Jalisco, and officers will be present at the intersections of Forjadores, Colosio, and San Antonio.
Finally, it has been announced that this road project will include interconnection work with the La Paz-El Carrizal aqueduct, new drinking water and sewer networks, curbs, sidewalks, protective works, landscaping and vegetation, street furniture, and street lighting.
