One More Time, Citizens Get the Ball Rolling
In another successful cleanup effort at El Médano Beach various local organizations and businesses came together to clear debris from the beach and its access routes. Hotel and restaurant staff, along with the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), took on the task of collecting waste and manually sweeping the surrounding areas.
Jorge Luis Sánchez Uribe, coordinator of ZOFEMAT (Land Maritime Federal Zone), explained that these initiatives aim to protect and sustainably manage oceans, seas, and marine resources while fostering partnerships to achieve conservation goals.

He also noted that the cleanup received support from staff at the Breathless Hotel, Bagatelle, La Terminal restaurant, and the CONANP team. Volunteers collected various types of waste, focusing on the breakwater, and sweeping the walkways.
Sánchez Uribe emphasized that his department follows a comprehensive program that includes environmental awareness talks in schools, regular cleanup events, and distributing educational materials to beachgoers.
