A Digital Ecosystem for the Modern Traveler

In collaboration with NOSTRA, a Dubai-based company specializing in immersive experiences, FITURCA (The Los Cabos Tourism Trust) has taken a significant step towards digitalization by entering the metaverse. This initiative offers a virtual gateway to Los Cabos, showcasing its cultural, natural, and touristic richness.

The virtual space, hosted within the NOSTRA metaverse, is designed as an immersive museum featuring a main hall and four exterior domes. Through this platform, users can explore key experiences such as gastronomy, art, culture, sustainability, golf, fishing, and ecology. This technological innovation aims to engage diverse generations, inviting them to rediscover the many attractions of Los Cabos.

Visitors can access the experience using Meta’s Oculus 2 or 3 virtual reality (VR) headsets, available via the Meta Horizon Facebook Market, where they can download the NOSTRA metaverse. Alternatively, users without VR devices can enter as guests through a specially designed microsite.

Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of FITURCA, emphasized the initiative’s impact, stating that it will enable Los Cabos to reach millions of potential visitors in key markets such as Mexico, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Dubai, the United Kingdom, and Spain. He also noted that this advancement is the result of five years of dedicated work focused on innovation and sustainable development, reinforcing Los Cabos’ reputation as a leading-edge tourism destination.

At the same time, FITURCA unveiled the revamped digital ecosystem “Visita Los Cabos”, a platform designed to enhance travelers’ experiences by integrating accessibility, immersive storytelling, and advanced digital tools.

Among its key improvements is the incorporation of AudioEye technology, ensuring universal accessibility. This tool offers contrast settings, font size adjustments, and features tailored for individuals with visual impairments, dyslexia, or color blindness. Additionally, AI-driven recommendations, such as interactive maps and itinerary planners, enhance trip planning.

The platform also provides 360° virtual tours and curated content spanning rural tourism, wellness, sustainability, and gastronomy. This visual narrative, supported by images from renowned photographer Ben Horton, fosters a deeper emotional connection with travelers.

With these pioneering initiatives, Los Cabos reaffirms its commitment to innovation and leadership in the tourism industry. By integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and augmented reality (AR), the destination not only enhances visitor experiences but also reinforces its image as an accessible and sustainable global travel hub.
