Los Cabos Is Steadily Becoming Unshakeable as A Firm Luxury Tourist Destination

Drawn by its connectivity, innovation, and exclusivity

Luxury tourism in the region has seen significant growth, fueled by the influx of high-net-worth travelers and the demand for personalized, high-end experiences.

The first three months of 2025 have been positive for Los Cabos in terms of air arrivals. Recently, Los Cabos International Airport reported 2 million passengers, reflecting growth compared to the same period last year. The most notable segment was private aircraft, which brings a visitor profile that yields greater economic benefits.

Rodrigo Esponda, director of FITURCA (Los Cabos Tourism Trust), shared that the tourist destination is enjoying a strong start to the year, with private plane arrivals rising by 3 percent in the first quarter. This increment, he noted, has been reflected in the destination’s services, as ultra-luxury hotel occupancy rose by 5 percent.

“This is a very positive trend for the destination because we’re constantly attracting a more affluent traveler profile who is seeking unique experiences such as gastronomy, golf, sport fishing, and close interactionwith nature, which are precisely how Los Cabos stands out from other destinations in Mexico,” he said.

Expectations for the next six months remain bright. The director of FITURCA confirmed that seats are already scheduled for the destination through September, indicating significant increase.

“We see a 13 percent growth in registered seats from the United States to Los Cabos, 9 percent in the domestic market, and 3 percent from Canada, which shows that there is still a preference among both foreign and domestic visitors to come to the destination.”

The Tourism Trust reaffirmed that various sectors of the tourism industry must remain focused on maintaining the destination’s quality, cleanliness, and services, aiming to uphold its positive reputation.
