Tertiary Hospital to be Built in San José

Included in the 2025 Investment Projects Budget

Mayor Christian Agúndez stated that this medical center will provide specialized care for complex diseases, as well as preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical assistance through highly trained health personnel. The staff will include doctors specializing in various fields, along with nurses, specialist nurses, chemists, nutritionists, social workers, and more.

“The land has already been designated for the 260-bed regional hospital, and the necessary paperwork is underway. The executive project is currently in progress. Depending on its complexity, the process can take between six months to a year. We hope that construction will begin in less time,” he said.

The facility will be located at the entrance to the toll road in San José. It is highly needed, as the existing Seguro Social and ISSSTE clinics have extremely limited capacity.
