FITUR, the International Tourism Fair in Madrid, Spain, stands as a pivotal platform for the global tourism industry, catering to both inbound and outbound markets. Baja California Sur is gearing up to make a significant impact at this premier event next week, with a strategy to penetrate emerging tourism markets.
Maribel Collins, head of the Department of Tourism and Economy, emphasized the fair's importance as a unique opportunity to showcase Baja California Sur’s diverse attractions. “FITUR provides us with a crucial space to position Baja California Sur as a dynamic tourism product across various market niches,” said Collins.
The delegation from Baja California Sur plans to engage in strategic meetings during the fair, including a pivotal session at the Mexican embassy in Spain, aiming to enhance the region's visibility and appeal.
Collins Sánchez noted that the promotion efforts are being bolstered by partnerships with tourism trusts and the business sector. These collaborations involve specialized agencies tasked with crafting targeted strategies to captivate key demographic segments from markets across South America, Asia, and Europe.
“There is strong cooperation among the trusts and business sectors, which fuels our promotional capabilities,” added Sánchez. “Integrating these efforts with the federation is pivotal. We are dedicated to diversifying our tourism market and are optimistic that our presence at FITUR will substantially boost our international stature.”
