Casa Sheila, in collaboration with the Municipal Directorate of Ecology, successfully sterilized 287 dogs and cats during a free campaign held at the park in San Bernabé, San José.
Nataly Cruz, head of the Municipal Directorate of Ecology, emphasized that these efforts aim to control high birth rates among pets, helping to reduce abandonment and curb the rise of stray animals.
“It is important to promote responsibility in pet ownership through sterilization,” Cruz stated.
The campaign's success was largely due to strong community participation, showcasing the impact of partnerships between local authorities and civil associations. Cruz also extended her gratitude to Casa Sheila and the residents of San Bernabé for their dedication to this initiative, which not only came at no cost but also fostered a culture of responsible pet care.
She encouraged the community to stay tuned for future sterilization campaigns planned in the municipality, urging pet owners to continue taking advantage of these valuable opportunities.
San José is one step closer to a healthier and more humane environment for its furry residents, thanks to the combined efforts of local groups and pet-loving citizens!
