According to recent data released by the Statistics Institute, there has been a significant increase in the migration of Mexicans to our state. It has been revealed that nearly half of the Mexican population in Southern Baja consists of individuals who have migrated from other states, and this number continues to grow steadily.
The statistics are particularly striking in Los Cabos, where an astonishing two out of every three inhabitants come from various regions across Mexico. This figure indicates a remarkable increase of 60 percent over the past decade alone.
This influx of migrants from different parts of the country has undoubtedly contributed to the growing challenges faced by the region, including the scarcity of water resources. The rise in population has placed a significant strain on the existing infrastructure, leading to a lack of water supply throughout the area.
As the population continues to grow, it becomes imperative for local authorities and policymakers to address the issue of water scarcity through effective planning and sustainable resource management. By implementing comprehensive measures and investing in infrastructure development, the state can better accommodate the needs of its residents and ensure a sustainable future for all.
