Mexico’s President’s Team Works Fast

A week after president AMLO announced that he would disband Fonatur and pass all its unsold land to the Secretariat of the Environment (SEMARNAT), his directive made it to the nation’s official journal. Over 8,000 hectares of land rich in endemic flora and fauna, and some miles of untouched beaches will be protected and never sold. Fonatur should release a detailed list of land locations in a few weeks. Stay tuned.
