Mexican Cyclist Isaac del Toro Wins Clàssica Terres de l’Ebre

Ensenada native Isaac del Toro claimed victory in the second edition of the Clàssica Terres de l’Ebre on Monday, July 21, adding another triumph to his breakout season.

Riding for UAE Team Emirates, the 21-year-old launched a decisive solo attack 34 kilometers from the finish, just as the climb to Alto de Paüls began. His teammates neutralized chase efforts, allowing Del Toro to cross the line unchallenged.

The race, held under sweltering conditions, spanned 185.8 kilometers (115.4 miles) from Roquetes to a summit finish in Tortosa. Italy’s Christian Scaroni (XDS Astana) took second place.

Del Toro, fresh off a dominant performance at the Tour of Austria and a runner-up finish in the Giro d’Italia, now boasts seven wins this season.
