New Condominiums Construction Upsets Neighbors

BY DAVID FLORES

A tiny plot of land just behind the Mona Lisa was recently approved for a multistory building. Note, this building is contested/disputed by many of the owners in the surrounding villas as the area was only ever intended for single-family homes, but the current regulations in the area allow for up to 6 levels. Then last Saturday morning on the first dig the heavy equipment hit a major powerline. The power went out from the Mona Lisa to Punta Ballena. The Guarda Civil was called in, CFE showed up, and a new power cord was stretched on the road to bring back electricity. Power was out for about 2 hours.
