What’s That Looong Procession?

Glad you ask. On December 12, Mexicans celebrate the apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe to a humble indigenous man, Juan Diego. Although Catholicism in Mexico has fallen to 77.7 percent from a high 99 percent in 1910, many Mexicans still participate in the annual parades, which begin 4 or 5 days early. Drive carefully!
