The Gray Whales Have Arrived!

Eight adult males have arrived at the Ojo de Liebre lagoon, ahead of the females. They arrive early to make sure there are no predators and are in charge of protecting females and their offspring. Located in Vizcaino in the municipality of Mulege in the northern pacific part of our state, Ojo de Liebre is the most important whale sanctuary of the Baja peninsula. Nearly 3,000 humpback and gray whales visit us every year.
