Los Cabos is the Top Holiday Destination

Hotel occupancy in Los Cabos during the Christmas and New Year’s season reached 80 percent, with peaks of up to 90 percent, according to Lilzi Orcí Fregoso, executive president of the Los Cabos Hotel Association.

She reported that with these figures, the average hotel occupancy for 2025 is expected to range between 70 and 71 percent, representing about four million domestic and international visitors.

While other Mexican tourist destinations have seen declines compared with previous years, Los Cabos continues to grow, registering a 1.5 percent increase in occupancy. “It has been a very good year, just as 2024 was,” she said.

Although she did not specify the total economic impact, she highlighted that the average hotel rate in Los Cabos is $500 per night, keeping the destination highly attractive to investors focused on luxury and ultra-luxury properties.

Two hotels opened this year, the Park Hyatt and Kadun, adding 250 rooms to the destination’s inventory. The Amman, an ultra-luxury resort that will be the first of its brand in Latin America, is scheduled to open in 2026.

Construction is also underway on the Rosewood de Regis residences, as well as new Nobu and Hard Rock hotels, further expanding the area’s offerings.

Lilzi Orcí also mentioned key achievements for 2025, including a new direct flight to Panama operated by Copa Airlines, linking Los Cabos to South America, and the continuation of the direct flight to Germany, strengthening access to European markets.

Meanwhile, Los Cabos International Airport reports a notable increase in operations, reaching nearly 80 percent capacity amid strong holiday travel demand.

“Thanks to the successes implemented by Los Cabos through various strategies by the Tourism Trust, we are achieving these healthy numbers,” solidifying its position as one of Mexico’s most valuable and preferred tourist destinations for celebrating Christmas and New Year’s” she concluded.
