One of the Most Important Events in the Tourism Industry in Los Cabos is Taking Place

From November 16 to 18, Los Cabos is hosting the 19th edition of the VIP Summit, a business forum now firmly established as one of the tourism industry’s most important events in the region.

With more than 1,600 business meetings, 20 participating countries, and 92 companies, the 2025 edition is the largest and most ambitious to date. Each year, the summit brings together buyers, strategic partners, suppliers, and media, creating a key space for collaboration and new business opportunities.

This year’s attendees include 92 companies from around the world. About 350 participants are expected to take part in more than 1,600 meetings throughout the event.

“Promoting connections between businesses and establishing Los Cabos as a strategic hub for global tourism has been the main goal of the VIP Summit since its start,” said Rodrigo Esponda, general director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust. “This allows us to unlock new opportunities for all sectors involved in developing and investing in the destination”.

Esponda noted that this year’s participant numbers mark a record for the event. The 30 percent increase in represented markets compared with last year reflects “the increasing diversification and strength of tourism promotion in Los Cabos,” solidifying its status as a competitive global destinatio.

During the opening program, Mauro Arredondo, general manager of Copa Airlines Mexico, joined the panel “Beyond Borders: How to Build the Future of Tourism Through Strategic Alliances.” He emphasized the importance of international cooperation in expanding tourism reach.

Commenting on the new route between Panama and Los Cabos launching December 4, 2025, Arredondo said the flight will serve as “a direct bridge that makes it easier to access from Central America, boosting tourism and strengthening trade relations between both regions”. The route, the first to connect Los Cabos directly with Latin America, is expected to bring more than 25,000 tourists a year from Central and South America.

For the first time, the VIP Summit included a panel of tourism journalists discussing the evolution of tourism promotion. The speakers highlighted the need for storytelling-driven communication that focuses not only on what visitors see but on what they feel, placing the traveler at the center of the narrative.

The VIP Summit has become a crucial platform for business development and international visibility, helping position Los Cabos as a leading destination. It consistently brings together key industry players who contribute to the region’s tourism growth and diversification.

The event’s impact is reflected in concrete agreements. All Tours, one of Germany’s major tour operators, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Los Cabos during the 2024 edition, driven by a deeper understanding of the region’s offerings. Colombia has also used its participation over the past three years to build an incentive program that strengthens commercial ties with Los Cabos and Baja California Sur. These alliances underscore the summit’s role in generating tangible business that supports tourism development across the destination.
