Hoteliers and Business Owners Have a Few Requests

Considering the traffic disruptions expected from the construction of the overpass at the Fonatur roundabout, representatives from the hotel and business sectors in San José del Cabo are proposing measures to streamline mobility and reduce the effects on workers, tourists, and motorists.

“This is a significant concern for hotels; it affects their employees’ transportation. Their schedules may need to be adjusted to ensure they can arrive at work and return home on time. We are collaborating with the authorities to identify alternative routes and implement appropriate measures, as travel times to the airport and to hotels are expected to increase,” stated a representative.

Additionally, hoteliers have expressed worries about the daily logistics for their staff, given the anticipated delays in transportation to and from the tourist area and the airport. To address this, they are engaging in mobility workgroups to define alternative routes and operational adjustments.

“Another issue that is being evaluated in partnership with various chambers and associations like CANACO (National Chambers of Commerce, Services and Tourism) is the possibility of obtaining some kind of a discount at the toll booth on the bypass. This route will undoubtedly become one of the best transit options during the construction of the overpass. We are appealing to CAPUFE (Federal Roads and Bridges and Related Services) to recognize the challenges the community will face and to consider providing some form of discount,” he concluded.
