Approximately 20,000 Passengers Represented
Rodrigo Esponda, director of FITURCA (the Tourism Trust of Los Cabos), recently noted that private aviation—a sector comprising businessmen, artists, and opinion leaders—experienced a significant 20% increase in traffic. “This represents about 20,000 additional international visitors compared to previous figures. This niche generates a much greater economic impact,” he explained.
Despite a general stagnation in overall visitor numbers, with the national market showing a decline, the surge in private flights has proven beneficial due to the substantial economic benefits and balance it provides.
Private aviation contributes approximately 3.5% to the regional GDP, especially in tourist hotspots like Los Cabos. The demand for private jets reflects a growing interest in luxury and convenient transportation options among high-profile travelers and executives.
Driven by these trends, Mexico’s private aviation sector has evolved to meet modern consumer demands who prioritize efficiency, safety, and customization, establishing the market as a leader in luxury experiences and highlighting Mexico as a premier tourism destination.
“The private aviation market has attracted increasing interest from companies and investors due to the sector’s sustained growth,” Esponda added.
William Da Silva, founder of Global Jet Set, a leading luxury private aviation company in Mexico, commented, “Today’s consumers seek more than convenience; they demand a unique experience that combines privacy, comfort, and exclusivity. Private aviation offers not only flexible scheduling and fast boarding but also enhanced security, minimizing waiting times and providing advanced safety measures throughout the flight.”
“Additionally, travelers appreciate the wide range of personalized onboard services, making each journey a distinct and luxurious experience,” Da Silva concluded.
