La Paz is gearing up to welcome 18 new, sleek, and modern buses in July, as announced by the recently reelected Mayor, Milena Quiroga. Dubbed the Urban Sharks, these buses are not only stylish but also designed with functionality in mind. They feature special accommodations like yellow seats for the elderly, pink seats for pregnant women, and a braille system for visually impaired passengers.
The arrival of these buses is scheduled between July 10 and 23, followed by training for selected drivers on their operation. By early August, they are expected to navigate La Paz’s streets, handling the city’s numerous potholes and speed bumps with ease. This upgrade aims to enhance public transportation accessibility and comfort for residents and visitors alike.
The introduction of these new buses marks a significant step towards improving the public transport system in La Paz, promising smoother and more convenient travel experiences for commuters across the city.
