Mexican Senate OK’s Decriminalization of Marihuana

It still has to be approved by the law chamber of Congress on December 15 but experts expect it will be approved with no changes. The new proposition increases the amount of marihuana from 5 to 28 grams, or 28 joints. It also approves to grow at home up to 8 plants. The approval is only for adults over 18 – that’s the legal age in Mexico – and will go into effect immediately throughout Mexico if approved in December. Additional information in our newspaper of December 7.
