All 32 contestants competing for the Miss Universe Mexico 2026 crown have arrived in Los Cabos and are officially in residence ahead of the national finals on August 29.
The state representatives held a press conference this afternoon in Cabo San Lucas, expressing their excitement to be in what several called one of Mexico’s most beautiful destinations. After months of individual preparation, the contestants said they are ready for the concentrated schedule of activities, rehearsals, and public appearances that will lead up to the final night.
From Coronation to Competition
The pageant officially kicked off on May 27 with a live coronation gala in Mexico City, where all 32 participants were introduced to the public. Since then, contestants have been working independently across the country on wardrobe, photoshoots, social media engagement, and community events.
Among the contestants is Erika Ximena Ramírez Aranda, representing Tabasco. According to local reports, Ramírez said she was ready to show the results of months of hard work and sacrifice as she boarded her flight to Cabo San Lucas.
Her evening gown and national costume were created by M de Iviachi, a Mexican haute couture firm known for intricate beadwork and tailoring.
What Happens Next
The contestants will spend the next 11 days in controlled residence at a host hotel in Cabo San Lucas. Daily activities include rehearsals, interviews with judges, photoshoots, wardrobe fittings, and promotional appearances around Los Cabos.
The program is designed to assess how contestants perform under pressure, interact with the public, and represent their states and the country as a whole. Judges will evaluate poise, communication skills, social responsibility projects, and stage presence across multiple rounds.
The national final on August 29 will be broadcast live and will include traditional pageant categories: swimwear, evening gown, interview segments, and a final question round. One winner will be crowned and will succeed Fátima Bosch, who currently holds the Miss Universe Mexico title and represented the country at Miss Universe 2025.
Why Los Cabos
Los Cabos has become a popular venue for high-profile national and international events, from sport fishing tournaments to music festivals. The destination’s combination of luxury resorts, scenic backdrops, and strong tourism infrastructure makes it an ideal setting for televised competitions.
For residents and visitors in Los Cabos during the lead-up to the final, there may be opportunities to see contestants at public events, promotional appearances, or charity activities. Details on public-facing events are typically announced through the Miss Universe Mexico social media channels closer to the date.
The winner will go on to represent Mexico at the Miss Universe 2026 competition in Puerto Rico this November, where contestants from 120 countries and territories will compete.
