Documentary Film Screening: “Li Cham” “I Died to Be Reborn”

The Instituto de la Cultura y las Artes de Los Cabos, in collaboration with the Cine Club Documental Los Cabos, invites you to a special screening of the award-winning documentary “Li Cham”.

Filmed in the Tsotsil language (with Spanish subtitles), this powerful and deeply moving documentary follows a profound journey of death, rebirth, and spiritual transformation within an indigenous community in Chiapas. Through intimate storytelling and striking visuals, the film explores ancestral traditions, healing rituals, and the strength of cultural identity in the face of modern challenges.

“Li Cham” has been recognized at several international film festivals, including Hot Docs, Sheffield DocFest, and FICM, praised for its sensitive cinematography and respectful portrayal of indigenous cosmovision.
