5th Annual Top Chef Competition

With the support of the Los Cabos City Council, local authorities announced the Top Chef Los Cabos 2026 event, scheduled for Friday, February 20. The gastronomic gathering will bring together representatives of the culinary industry and is expected to further position the destination as a national and international culinary reference.

April Urueta Martínez, Director of Economic Development, said the event will help strengthen Los Cabos’ culinary reputation while attracting tourism, encouraging investment and generating economic benefits for the region.

“I see it in two ways. First, attracting tourism is very important. It is extremely appealing to have proud Mexican chefs of this caliber from across the country offering excellent cuisine. The economic impact is significant because, even with cost-recovery fees, the overall benefits add up,” Urueta Martínez said.

Municipal authorities noted that Top Chef Los Cabos 2026 reaffirms the municipality’s status as a culinary corridor rich in flavors, traditions and cultural expressions, offering unique experiences for residents as well as national and international visitors.

Event founder Chef Ariosto Camacho reported that this year’s competition will take place at Jazmín’s Restaurant in San José del Cabo. The event will feature nine participating chefs and an estimated attendance of 150 guests, who will also enjoy live music.

“Our tourist destination in Baja California Sur, specifically Los Cabos, offers some of the best resorts and culinary concepts,” Camacho said. “Since 2020, we have worked to promote and elevate the culinary talent of chefs and restaurants. The Top Chef competition seeks to unite these talents, create a shared culinary experience, and reinforce the idea that each edition will feature the best chef.”

Tickets will be available directly at Jazmín’s Restaurant, located in the Historic Center of San José del Cabo. The restaurant is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and can be reached at (624) 142-1760. Valet parking will be available.

Additional information is available through the Top Chef Los Cabos hotline at (624) 121-3929. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $85 USD, while advance tickets will be available for $70 USD.
