At Isla Espiritu Santo near La Paz, researchers have determined a growth of the sea lion population from 500 to 700. It is the only colony out of 13 that are monitored in the Gulf of California that has shown this growth. An increase in the ocean temperature is the cause of the loss of sea lions, which population in the are has diminished from 45,000 to 15,000. Sob, sob.
