The very popular and talented eyebrow-raising musicians in Los Cabos, is a family of five, originally from Ensenada, known as Kid’s Monsters, who have been taking Southern Baja California by storm the past three years. The entertaining quintet is a beloved favorite of fans that have seen them perform in La Paz, Todos Santos, San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas; playing cover songs from every genre like classic rock, jazz, soul, and South American sound known as Andean, with 11,200 followers on Instagram and 2, 400 more on Facebook, who had this to say about the local young stars.
“Amazing Talent! Amazing band! Amazing love and respect for their music,” said Chuy Camarena.
“On my trip to San Jose del Cabo I found this incredible and talented band of five. What’s amazing is that they all are brothers and sisters. The youngest one is 15 years old and the oldest is 27. They all sing and play several different instruments like guitar, piano, saxophone, violoncello, drums, flute, and piano. Some of them learned how to play some of the instruments on their own. They played all types of music. I had the honor to meet them and to talk to them. They’re all very sweet, polite and down to earth. Since then, I support them by following their social media and by also sharing their videos.”
“They are a great band! And a great familia! Much success to all of them,” noted Larry Carr, a Government Relations Director, Pacific Region at Boys & Girls Clubs of America and San Jose State University Alumni.
“I was lucky enough to meet them and I tell them they will go very far, they are extraordinary, and I loved the vibe. They transmit a lot of talent,” added Gaby de Alanis from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
“Saw them in the square tonight for the first time. Such talent, unbelievable energy and so much love. So happy to have been there,” shared Helen Reagh. “A super concert in Cabo San Lucas. Well done,” said Frank Colino of Atlanta, Georgia.
When they started in Ensenada, the girls were younger than 10 years old, At 15, Nikeyt is their lead singer with a spectacular voice who can really throw it down with a Falsetto range that is incredible. Anyone who appreciates Frankie Valli, Phillip Bailey, Michael Jackson or better yet Denise Williams, Minnie Riperton, Whitney Houston, or Mariah Carey understands how sweet the youngster’s voice really is when she performs cover songs by some of the greatest.
“I continue to live every moment of my life, and my passion is to be happy and to see people smile. And when I sing the public pushes me to achieve my dream, and it’s the audience who are the reason for my success,” said Nikeyt.
Nirvana and Genesis are the two older girls who play everything from lead guitar to the saxophone, bass, violin and flute. Their 27-year-old eldest brother is the composer, lead guitarist, and plays the piano. ”Where are they playing these days? Wherever they are, they rock the house down,” said Cindy Underwood.
The group performed at the October 2024 Beer Fest, and have been regulars at the Thursday night San Jose Art Walk, and at Hacienda Encantada and the famous Jungle Bar located in downtown Cabo San Lucas.
“We just had a great vacation at Hacienda Encantada where we met their beautiful family. It meant a lot to meet them all in person! They are such a shining example of positivity. I wish them all the best. We really enjoyed their music!” exclaimed Karin Menke, who studied Music at Metropolitan State College of Denver.
The younger brother, Ramses, plays drums but is part actor, sometimes clown, and over exaggerates every performance banging away with his sticks, but he is an integral part of the band’s success. Their oldest brother and lead guitarist frontman, Osiris, does an outstanding job at leading this family of talented musicians.
“Very good band, so very talented. I think they’re all amazing! Hopefully, we can get back to a Cabo to see them again,” said Mykel Pickens of Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We were fortunate with my family to see them live at a Hard Rock Cafe Hotel Pool Party in Los Cabos a couple of years ago, they were excellent, and it was the highlight of our trip,” said Juan Carlos Prada.
They’ve come a long way from performing on street corners in Ensenada, to the semi-big stage here in Los Cabos.
