So to speak. A total of 158 sea turtle nests with around 16,000 eggs were detected at the Grand Faro beach in San Jose del Cabo last week. The eggs were safely retrieved by the Navy (Marina) personnel, working alongside sea turtle protection organizations, and transported to protected areas where they can hatch without threats.
This collaborative effort is part of an ongoing mission to protect the vulnerable sea turtle population and ensure that as many hatchlings as possible make it to the sea. It’s heartwarming to see these folks hard at work, saving these tiny creatures and helping maintain the balance of marine life in our area. Hats off to the Navy and all the volunteers involved!
With dedication like this, we can continue to help these incredible animals thrive. Thank you to all who participated in this amazing rescue operation!
