In our very own Baja California Sur
BY DAVID FLORES
U.S. Ambassador Ken Salazar and his Texan Hat were in La Paz recently, to emphasize the investments in clean energies by New Fortress Energy (NFE) which has increased its production from 100 to 135 megawatts.
This energy is produced with liquified gas instead of diesel which makes it less polluting, reduces costs, increases energy efficiency and helps to have a healthier environment. Other companies that are investing in the production of clean energy in our state are Eurus America e Invenergy. Together, the three companies generate 220 MW of less polluting energy, currently producing a third of the energy that Baja California Sur uses.
Following Salazar’s visit, ambassadors from Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Romania, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Finland, France, Hungary, Poland, Portugal and the European Union were in La Paz to do business. They were welcomed and toured by our state governor. The purpose of their meeting was to figure out how to invest in clean energies, science research and water production. It looks like Baja California Sur is heading towards the production of clean energies for sale. Now, how do we ship it to the European Union? DHL?
