In celebration of International Women’s Day on Wednesday March 8, there will be several protests in our state. The women protests are a call to men and the government to stop violence against women. Just this year, such violence increased 46 percent in La Paz and the 911 center in Southern Baja reported 413 calls for help in January and 380 in February; that’s over 13 calls for help that women made per day.
