This Sunday December 12, Catholic Mexicans celebrate the alleged apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe to an Indian named Diego, atop of the Tepeyac hill in Mexico City. The catholic church got behind the story and every year, thousands of pilgrims travel – mostly walking – to the Guadalupe Basilica that was built on the same hill. Throughout the country, people pilgrim to their town’s main church.
