Cyclone Liza – Book Presentation

The Government of Baja California Sur, through the Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura and the Archivo Histórico del Estado Pablo L. Martínez, invites the public to the presentation of the book “El ciclón Liza: Three Centuries of the History of a Town Marked by Storms and Disasters” by Dr. Elino Villanueva González.

This work explores the historical impact of Cyclone Liza and examines three centuries of social and environmental challenges that shaped the region and its people. The presentation will include commentary by Juan Cuauhtémoc Murillo Hernández and Dr. Luis Alberto Trasviña Moreno, offering historical insights and reflections on the book’s significance.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the User Services Hall of the Archivo Histórico in La Paz. Admission is free.

This presentation provides an opportunity to reflect on the historical memory of natural disasters and their lasting influence on the identity and resilience of the community.
