The company ZML Developers submitted for authorization its proposal for the construction and operation of the “Álvaro Obregón Photovoltaic Project”, a large-scale solar park in the municipality of La Paz, to the SEMARNAT (Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources for environmental assessment), to determine its viability and mitigate possible impacts on the local ecosystem.
The project will include 162,000 solar panels, 300 converters, A 115 kV or 230 kV step-up substation, and a 0.5 km overhead power line
The project will be on two leased plots, totaling 517 ha. However, only 254.9 hectares of the plots will be used, while the rest of the property will remain in its current state.
