The lovely and charming town of Santa Rosalia is a former mining town in Baja California Sur. One of the very special characteristics of the town is its wooden homes and a historic steel church designed by Gustave Eiffel showing the cultural, historical and natural wealth of the region.

The “The World” is a cruise ship that travels around the world, visiting islands and port cities in many different regions. Differentiating itself from other cruise ships by being practically a floating condominium, it is the largest private residential yacht on Earth with 165 residences allowing passengers to travel the world without leaving home.
When it arrived in Santa Rosalía, with195 on board about 100 visitors stayed in the town enjoying local activities and attractions, exploring the desert shoreline by kayak, hiking beaches, and snorkeling with sea lions. The other guests went to the Sain Ignacio lagoon to whale watch. The lagoon is world famous for its over 5,000 whales which visit between December and May.
The safety and comfort of visitors was provided by several organizations such as National Guard, Navy and the Port Captaincy among others.
