According to a worldwide ranking by the AirHelp website, Los Cabos International Airport ranks 22nd on the planet in customer satisfaction. The SJDC airport has also obtained first place in passenger service in Latin America.
Francisco Villaseñor, director of the airport, pointed out that the terminal also competes with others in Latin America and the Caribbean, even surpassing the Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City and the Cancun International Airport.
At the national level and in the Latin American and Caribbean region, Los Cabos International Airport has reached first place as the air terminal best evaluated by tourists. “In the case of Los Cabos International Airport, it competes in the range of airports with 5 to 15 million passengers. I can tell you that for the fourth time, we have won first place in the level of service in this evaluation system,” added Villaseñor. "The passenger is the one who evaluates the entire airport system, where authorities, airlines, commercial premises and the entire airport infrastructure participate."
In the next four years, the Los Cabos International Airport will receive an investment of more than 6 billion pesos. In 2025 alone, 598 million will be allocated to infrastructure improvements, to increase passenger satisfaction. According to a study carried out by the international consulting firm Skytrax, in collaboration with the artificial intelligence (AI) of the data analysis company, Airports Council International (ACI) identified the following airports as the best in Mexico, considering factors such as punctuality, security, comfort and services offered.
The five most efficient airports in the country are 1) Cancún International Airport (CUN) with 85.6% punctuality, according to FlightStats data (2022). In addition, it has modern facilities and a wide variety of services. 2) Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) earned a 4.5/5 rating for safety and comfort, (2022) thereby winning the silver medal. Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) was third, standing out for its efficiency in baggage handling, with an average delivery time of 20 minutes, according to data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) (2022). And 4) Monterrey International Airport (MTY) received a rating of 4.3/5 in punctuality and services offered. Mexico City International Airport (MEX), despite its complexity, stood out for its safety, with a rating of 4.2/5.
The study also highlighted the importance of investment in technology and infrastructure to improve the efficiency and comfort of airports. So far, it looks like Cabo will remain a leader in efficiency and customer service with everything it has planned in the coming years. ,
