The Municipal Operating Agency of the Drinking Water, Sewerage and Sanitation System (OOMSAPAS announced that they will present a portfolio of projects to the National Water Commission (Conagua) and the government of Mexico, to face the overburden problem of the already existing of wastewater treatment plants in Los Cabos.
Among the proposals are the construction of a plant with a capacity of 65 gallonsper second in the Lagunitas neighborhood in Cabo San Lucas, and another in San José del Cabo, where it is planned to replace the current plant located near the San Jose estuary with a new one with capacity of 159 gallons per second, which can cover the demand of the municipality. This was detailed in an interview by the director of Potable Water, Raúl Rubio.
OOMSAPAS is requesting that these project be included for the Federal Government budget for next year. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether they will be considered to be accomplished in the municipality.
