From weddings to corporate seminars, business meetings, and more, Los Cabos has become a top choice for group tourism
Los Cabos has solidified its position as a leading destination in the global meetings industry, accounting for 10.7% of tourism activity in Baja California Sur. This sector generates over 13,000 jobs and contributes 10.084 billion pesos to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
To support group tourism, Los Cabos offers state-of-the-art infrastructure, including hotels with over 24,000 square meters (258,000 square feet) of meeting space. This appeals to visitors seeking luxury experiences at competitive prices.
Rodrigo Esponda, general director of FITURCA (Los Cabos Tourism Trust), highlighted the success of Summit Cabo 2025, an event for real estate professionals—including brokers, realtors, and developers from Baja California Sur. Organized in collaboration with the Client Advisory Council of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the summit attracted 110 companies from 13 markets: Mexico, the United States, Canada, Australia, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Japan, Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, and Italy. With 350 attendees, including suppliers and strategic partners, the event facilitated over 1,600 business meetings.
This reinforces Los Cabos’ reputation as a strategic destination that fosters innovation and collaboration. The region is focused on five key pillars: leadership and governance, industry professionalization, community involvement, sustainability, and innovation.
Known for its stunning landscapes—sun, beaches, and mountains—Los Cabos offers over 20,000 rooms, including luxury accommodations, and a diverse array of culinary and adventure experiences. The destination is well-connected, with 32 direct flights to U.S. cities, 16 domestic routes, 11 to Canada, and one to Germany. In January 2025, local hotels welcomed more than 329,000 passengers, marking a 0.6% increase from the previous year.
Current initiatives include the Ambassadors Program, which focuses on talent development within the tourism industry, and a community awareness campaign aimed at enhancing Los Cabos’ reputation as a premier venue for corporate events, incentives, and conventions. Public-private sector collaboration has been instrumental in these efforts, as has the integration of the Los Cabos Meetings Industry Cluster into the Mexican Meetings Industry Council (COMIR).
Los Cabos boasts approximately 20 large-capacity meeting venues—six in San José del Cabo, seven along the corridor, and at least six in Cabo San Lucas. One venue can accommodate up to 4,500 people. Strategic partnerships with national and international organizations further enhance the destination’s competitiveness, catering to medical, scientific, business, and religious groups.
With its world-class infrastructure, accessibility, and commitment to innovation, Los Cabos continues to be a preferred destination for major events and gatherings.
