In celebration of Police Day, a commemorative ceremony was held on December 21, bringing good news and well-deserved recognition to Los Cabos’ finest. The event included the delivery of 10 brand-new, fully equipped patrol vehicles, the official integration of 40 new officers into the force, and honors for exemplary service.
The new patrol vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including sound and light systems, internal and external cameras, and command features that enhance police procedures and community safety. Municipal Treasurer Rigoberto Arce, representing the mayor, praised the officers for their dedication and sacrifice in ensuring public safety. He also reaffirmed the city’s commitment to strengthening the police force through continued investment in equipment and resources.
During the ceremony, officers were recognized for their years of service, outstanding performance, and participation in community-focused activities like sports and shooting competitions. Families of 40 graduates from the Municipal Police Career Professional Service Management Academy proudly witnessed their loved ones officially join the force.
Captain Christopher López, head of the police department, expressed gratitude to the municipal administration for prioritizing resources like vehicles, uniforms, and weapons. The new patrol cars will be strategically assigned to key areas, while some older units will be retired. The 40 new officers will also be deployed across various operational units to bolster security in the region.
This investment not only reflects the city’s dedication to public safety but also celebrates the efforts and sacrifices of its police force in keeping the community secure.
