At the 34th Annual American Sand Sculpting Championship
Meet Master Sand Sculptor Brett Stocker, who has been sculpting since 1997. He was born in Kenya, East Africa, and schooled in England, then lived in Canada as a garden designer for 32 years before finally moving to Mexico 3 years ago.
While living in Parksville, B.C. Canada, where the Canadian International Sandsculpting Contest is held, he became involved in judging for five years. There, he met Joe Maize, who invited Brett to the U.S. Open in Imperial Beach, California where they won. Two months later they took the Architectural prize at the World Championships in Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia.
Brett continued doing contests and exhibitions and was invited to participate in a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest and tallest sand sculpture in San Diego with 80 carvers from around the World.
He has competed in the Canary Islands, Canada, the United States and Mexico, and placed in numerous contests. He has also competed in Ice and Snow carving in Canada, Russia and the U.S. Brett resides in Los Cabos Mexico, and is known for his verbal and visual Panache!
