Los Cabos is set to see the construction of a brand-new Women’s Justice Center, aimed at providing a secure and supportive environment for women to report abuse and seek justice. The Federal Government is investing approximately $700,000 USD into this essential project.
The center will occupy a 6,000-square-foot building with several designated areas, including a waiting room, front desk, attention cubicles for the Public Prosecutor’s Office, auxiliary staff spaces, an interview room, recreational areas, an early care office, restrooms, and offices for the Deputy Attorney General.
The center’s primary mission is to offer comprehensive support. It will provide first-level medical care with referrals to advanced medical services if needed, legal guidance on family, civil, criminal, and labor issues, and protective measures for women facing violence, sexual crimes, or other serious offenses. In collaboration with the State Attorney General’s Office, the center will also offer psychological care, social work services, and a safe space to file complaints.
Strategically located near the Don Koll football stadium in the Cangrejos neighborhood, the center will be easily accessible to those in need. Scheduled for completion in early 2025, this initiative is expected to play a crucial role in safeguarding women’s rights and strengthening justice services across the region.
