The Los Cabos Businessmen's Association, previously known as Amigos de Cabo San Lucas, was formed by a group of people who share an interest in keeping the tourist destination among the best in Mexico. It involves both Mexicans and foreign locals, pillars of the community, dueling businesses, restaurants, hotels, bars, nightlife, etc. — and it's a great group to be part of!
The amazing thing is that they've made a real difference in the downtown areas of both Cabo San Lucas and San José. They've transformed these places into welcoming spaces where locals and tourists alike can enjoy a safe and beautiful environment while exploring the area's businesses.
This Association is also a great promoter of Mexican traditions, including Mexican gastronomy, culture, and so much more! They seek to boost economic and social development in our region, which is an amazing goal!
Ms. Nora Alvarado, founder and its 1st President, told this reporter that they work very closely with other government offices such as: public safety, urban image, public services, garbage collection, street maintenance, street lighting, etc. All that is needed to have a beautiful, clean and safe space. They also are concerned and taking action to stop young kids selling chiclets at the street which is part of the social responsibility of the association.
To celebrate the Day of the Dead in Mexico (which is not the same as Halloween), they have organized an amazing tour through the streets of downtown Cabo San Lucas. All participating businesses will contribute with decorations and paraphernalia for this special holiday. And that's not all! They have also organized a fantastic festival, which will be on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 6 to 10 PM.
The fun will kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:00 pm at the Amelia Wilkes Plaza on Hidalgo street. Get ready for some amazing events, including exhibitors and tastings of delicious Mexican beverages like mezcal, tequila, and aguamiel (a non-alcoholic beverage made from agave).
The University of the Gulf of California will be there too, with students of gastronomy. Get ready for a blast of color and joy at the plaza bandstand, where you'll see incredible folkloric dances in traditional costumes and hear the sweet sounds of beautiful Mexican songs.
And there's more! We're also supporting all those amazing women entrepreneurs with a fantastic bazaar where they'll be showcasing and selling their products.
And there's more! You'll also get to admire the amazing artistic talent of local painters and sculptors.
Part of this festival will be a tour through downtown and for sure you will have lots of fun!
