Chris López, the director of police in Los Cabos, has kicked off a new initiative to help ease traffic congestion by deploying traffic cops to manually operate stoplights in high-traffic areas. So far, 20 traffic officers have been stationed at key intersections in both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo during rush hours. Their presence is meant to help streamline the flow of vehicles, especially when things get chaotic during peak times.
The next big challenge on the list? The Fonatur glorieta, which is notoriously tricky for drivers to navigate, especially during the busiest times of day. It’s safe to say that this spot will test the skills of even the most seasoned traffic cops.
So, if you’re driving through Los Cabos, don’t be surprised if you see an officer directing traffic at a stoplight. It’s all part of the effort to improve the flow and cut down on those long, frustrating waits. As always, drive carefully and be patient!
