Mexico celebrates its Independence Day this Sunday, September 15, and continues into Monday, September 16, which is an official holiday. The festivities kick off at 10:00 pm on Sunday with “El Grito,” the traditional shout that called for Mexico’s fight for independence from Spain.
Following the shout, expect cultural events, dance performances, and live music at the main square in San Jose del Cabo, the government esplanade in Cabo San Lucas, and at government plazas across the state and country.
On Monday, a civilian and military parade will begin at 8:00 am, starting at the San Jose cemetery and finishing at the downtown plaza.
Let’s celebrate Mexico’s Independence Day in style!
