A brand new potabilization plant is set to be turned on this Monday, September 2, bringing some much-needed relief to around 30,000 residents. The untreated water for this plant comes all the way from the “La Buena Mujer” dam, located 8.8 miles up in the mountains. This nearly $8 million USD investment isn’t just good news for those 30,000 folks—it will also indirectly benefit another 99,500 people in the northern part of the city.
With this new plant online, those in the north won’t have to share their water supply as much, meaning everyone gets a bit more. It’s a significant step forward in addressing the city’s water needs, and you can bet the residents are eagerly anticipating the difference this plant will make.
So, starting Monday, a lot more people will be able to turn on their taps with confidence. Here’s to progress!
