The U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana is welcoming Christopher Teal as the new U.S. Consul General, starting his tenure on August 5, 2024. Mr. Teal is stepping into a three-year role where he’ll oversee activities in Baja California and Baja California Sur. With a 25-year career as a diplomat with the U.S. Department of State, Mr. Teal brings a wealth of experience to his new position.
Before this, he served as the Consul General at the U.S. Consulate in Nogales, Mexico, where he honed his skills in international relations and diplomacy. His impressive resume also includes public affairs roles in diverse locations such as Sri Lanka, Guadalajara, Peru, and the Dominican Republic. In Washington, D.C., he has worked at the European Office and the Foreign Press Center, adding depth to his understanding of global affairs.
