The state’s Finance Secretariat has come through with federal funds to keep up the maintenance of areas once managed by Fonatur, following its dissolution last December by presidential order. These funds are earmarked for crucial spots like the Fonatur roundabout, the San Jose sewage treatment plant, and the four-lane road linking Cabo and San Jose.
Additionally, buildings, offices, furniture, and equipment previously owned by Fonatur are in the process of being legally transferred to the jurisdiction of the Los Cabos government. This transfer marks a significant administrative shift aimed at improving local management and service delivery.
With this financial boost, there’s hope that overdue projects like an overpass at the notorious roundabout can finally get the green light. It’s a step forward in addressing longstanding infrastructure challenges and enhancing the efficiency of public services in the region.
