The beloved Villa Serena restaurant, a staple just outside of Cabo for over three decades, has unfortunately closed its doors. This closure comes amid a broader conflict involving the Ejido owners who are pushing to evict residents of the Villa Serena community, citing expired land lease contracts from the previous year.
Manuel Bobadilla, the dedicated owner of Villa Serena, shared that although the restaurant has closed, he is actively retrieving all his kitchen and restaurant equipment. Despite the setback, negotiations with the Ejido board of directors continue, and there’s hope that Villa Serena may once again welcome diners in the future.
In the meantime, patrons of Manuel’s culinary expertise can still enjoy his delicious offerings at another of his establishments, Puerta Vieja. Located at the start of the road to Misiones del Cabo, on your left, Puerta Vieja now boasts ample parking and was bustling, albeit at half capacity, when this writer last visited for breakfast. Let’s rally behind Manuel during these challenging times and continue to enjoy his excellent cuisine!
