Todos Santos Shore Fishing Tournament Announced. The “The Maja el Grande” Shore fishing tournament will take place Sunday, November 5, at the “La Palizada” beach in Agua Blanca, Todos Santos. The fishies to catch are Dorado, Sierra and Jurel Toro (Pacific Jack Crevalle) for a guaranteed 150,000 pesos (nearly 9 grand at the current rate of exchange) in prizes. Best Quality of Life? Where?Southern Baja, according to the Food & Pleasure Magazine. It was placed at # 2, just behind the Yucatan. The magazine says: “Baja California Sur has the prettiest beaches in the country and it is considered one of the world’s most visited tourist destinations. Two Cabo Hotels Among the Best Ten in Mexico. Condé Nast Traveler has released its Reader’s Choice awards for the 10 Best Hotels in Mexico, and the positions don’t make sense to me, but maybe they are based on the number of answers from their readers. The hotel Paradero Todos Santos is listed as #6, while Nobu Los Cabos is listed as the # 10 position. Do you believe it?
MSC European Cruises Coming to Cabo. The luxurious European cruise company, which already serves the Mexican Caribbean, will begin cruising to Los Cabos early next year. MSC Cruises is a Swiss global cruise line based in Geneva, with operations offices in Naples, Genoa and Venice. It was founded in 1970 in Naples, Italy, as part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company. Let’s welcome them!
Incentive and Convention Tourism Grows. During the World Meeting Forum held in Los Cabos last week, it was revealed that our tourist destination receives 31% of all incentive and convention tourists in Mexico. That is huge. So is the economic flow, as these types of visitors spend about 30% more in food, booze and activities.
Donated Firetruck Goes to La Ribera. The Saint Luke’s Hospital donated a firetruck to the San Jose Fire Department, which decided to turn it over to their sister organization in La Ribera, East Cape. It was last June that the city government broke ground on the La Ribera fire station. Congrats!
