At 9:00 am today, Norma was flexing her muscles as a Category 2 hurricane, boasting 175 km/h winds. And guess where she was? About 395 kms south of our beloved Cabo San Lucas. And she’s on the move, too – at a pace of 13 km/h!
Now, here’s the scoop. By the time she decides to drop by Los Cabos around 5:00 pm on Saturday, she might have mellowed out a bit. We’re looking at maybe a Category 1 hurricane or just a tropical storm. But, she’s still planning to leave her mark. Los Cabos should brace itself for a drenching with between 200 and 250 mm (that’s 8 – 9 inches!) of rain. As for our neighbors in La Paz and the northern part of the East Cape? Expect about 140 mm. So, keep those umbrellas and raincoats handy!
Stay safe and dry out there!
